Prior to joining the Congolese American Council for Peace and Justice, Fidele Lumeya:
Has been the Dianne and Lillie Foundation's Executive Director;
Worked at Church World Service as Associate Director in charge of International Emergency Response;
Joined Refugees International and worked as advocate;
Worked as Independent Consultant;
While with the Mennonite Central Committee, he first worked as Liaison officer before becoming co-Country Director;
Seconded to the UNHCR Swaziland;
Has been Lecturer at Mindolo, Zambia Peace Institute.

He briefed the United Nations Security Council’s Area Formula on the situation facing the DRC and Burundi.  
Fidele was invited to speak about the Darfur Crisis at the Darfur Rally in San Francisco Bay Area and at the Holocaust Museum.
He has been the guest of : The Diane Rehm show and NPR, The Voice of America French and English edition.

Fidele's first book in French La Perspective Africaine de la Paix Et Réconciliation was published by St. Paul Editions in 2009 in Kinshasa, DRC. The English version is being edited and will be published in December along side with his second book on DR-Congo: the Long Road to Peace and Justice.

He has a Masters Degree in Conflict Transformation from the Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
